New Boston Coalition
Together More is Possible
TO CREATE A MORE EQUITABLE BOSTON BY 2030,
WE NEED TO _____________________.
How would you fill in this blank? What shifts have to happen? How do we get there?
In 2021 King Boston launched the New Boston Coalition to develop new relationships and leadership, center BIPOC voices, and generate the necessary momentum to collectively advance equity and justice.
No single group or person has all the answers and we trust that bringing the right people together will point to new ways of doing and being where we all thrive and care for one another.
SPARKING NEW
CONNECTIONS
In its first five months, the New Boston Coalition brought together over 300 cross-sector community leaders representing multiple sectors:
Non-profit: 40.5%
Education: 27.4%
Private: 15.5%
Philanthropy: 9.6%
Local Government: 6.9%
WHAT YOU DO TODAY MATTERS
CENTERING
BIPOC VOICES
& LEADERSHIP
Embrace Boston launched the New Boston Coalition with the intention of holding space for a BIPOC-led movement to realize a multi-racial democracy where everyone belongs and Black people prosper, grounded in joy, love, and wellbeing.
Our meetings aim to provide a joy-filled experience while sparking new connections among cross-sector leaders.
Over 80% of meeting attendees who completed a post-meeting survey reported “having a joy-filled experience during the New Boston Coalition meeting!”
TAKE ACTION
Coalition meetings support members in bringing knowledge to life in their own spaces. By gaining a deeper understanding of race and racism, radical inclusion and racial equity, we continue to lay the foundation for a more equitable Boston.
We invite members to adopt the Black Mass Coalition’s Blueprint for a New World and the Wellbeing Blueprint and will be using these frameworks to track progress.
