A NEW DAY, A NEW APPROACH
Working towards a more equitable Boston at the intersection of Arts & Culture and Research & Policy through our imagined signature methodology.
In order to reach a more beautiful vision for our tomorrow, repair is critical to stop the cycles of historical and ongoing harming of Black people.
We are committed to a multi-dimensional approach to transform Boston. We strive to serve as a model for cities across the globe.
OUR MULTIDIMENSIONAL APPROACH
MONUMENTS & CULTURAL WEALTH:
Re-imagining our public spaces to honor diverse histories and inspire unity
ENGAGEMENT:
Fostering community participation to ensure that people see themselves and are reflected in the work
NARRATIVE:
Shaping our city's story to acknowledge past hardships, celebrate progress, and envision a just future
SPATIAL JUSTICE:
Striving for equitable access to resources and opportunities across all neighborhoods
POLICY:
Implementing inclusive policies that directly address inequities and promote sustainable development.
OUR WORK
ARTS & CULTURE
Working with our incredible creative and cultural partners, we tell our stories, uplift our communities, connect on a human level, and imagine. We build space, sustain work and construct narratives that promote our collective well-being.
RESEARCH
We believe research builds narratives that affirms ability, access, and power. Too often that narrative fosters a deficit mindset when research is based on marginalized communities. We use research and data to shine a light on root causes of inequity and promote effective strategies for systems-level change.
POLICY
Embrace Boston advocates on behalf of legislation and policies that counters and dismantles structural racism in the City of Boston, and across the State of Massachusetts.
Embrace Boston focuses on advancing policies that reduce historical harms in the following areas: Culture and Symbols, Housing, Transportation, Education, Criminal Legal Systems, Health, and Income and Wealth.
